INDIANAPOLIS - LG Electronics USA is using CEDIA Expo 201 1 to launch the first FuIIHD 108Op passive 3D LCD TV carrying THX 3D Display Certification.
Model 55LW9800 (shipping now at a $3,800 suggested retail) is dubbed LG's Nano Full LED model, and features an ultra-slim (1.08 inches deep) cabinet design, full-array LED backlighting system and 55-inch screen size.
The set is based on LG's film-pattern retarder (FPR) 3D screen technology, and is the first such set to receive both THX 2D and 3D display certification.
LG will be demonstrating the set at the THX booth during CEDIA Expo.
LG said the set passed more than 400 THX tests evaluating left- and right-eye images for color accuracy, cross-talk, viewing angles and video-processing performance.
