LOTUS IS NOW offering beta test versions of its Sametime collaboration product and will ship the product in IS languages by 1999, company executives said at Comdex in Las Vegas last week.
Sametime lets users chat via typed, real-time messages and hold meetings in which they share documents. Originally slated to be part of Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5, Sametime will instead be available as a stand-alone application and server capable of integrating with those previously mentioned releases.
