Collaboration software shines at Demo 99
APPLICATIONS THAT ALLOW workerS to congregate virtually and to collaborate on projects online were featured last week at Demo 99, in Indian Wells, Calif.
Leading the charge was Lotus Development, with its expected rollout of QuickPlace, a Web-based collaborative project management application uncoupled from the Notes/Domino platform. (See "Web-based collaboration gets real," Feb. 8, page 28.)
QuickPlace is packaged as a dedicated server, as part of the Lotus Domino Release 5 Application Server or Domino Release 5 Enterprise Server, or as a subscription service from Lotus partners.
