A recent announcement by Lowe's Home Centers, that it will be constructing a new $70.5 million distribution center in the Findlay area, is the culmination of a lengthy project on which area economic development officials have been working for nearly two years.
Lowe's had attempted to locate this facility in the Golden Triangle area near the I-75 and I280 interchange in Rossford, Ohio. This is the same location where the proposed Rossford arena and amphitheater projects are underway. According to an official with the Rossford arena project, opposition by the Toledo Blade has been a major factor in delaying and hindering the financing and completion of the Rossford development project. Co-publisher John Block's desire to position the hockey arena downtown continues to provide opposition to the Rossford location.
