New release improves VOIP, ATM, network capabilities
LUCENT HAS ADDED stronger voice-over-IP (VOIP) and ATM capabilities to its Definity PBX systems with Release 7.1 of its Definity Enterprise Communications Server (ECS) software and hardware upgrade package.
The package, unveiled last week, enables Definity systems to utilize IP, ATM, or circuit-switched networks for voice and fax calls, as well as call center, wireless, and messaging applications.
Built for Definity Enterprise Communications Server and ProLogix systems, Release 7.1 includes an IP-trunk interface, ATM circuit cards, TCP/IP connectivity software, and enhancements complying with the Q-Signaling inter networking standard for communications between Lucents' and other vendors' systems....
