Murray Hill, N.J.-LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES has executed a one-two punch with new products that enhance the capabilities of its flagship PBX, Definity Enterprise Communications Server (ECS).
The networking/telecom equipment vendor, based here, unveiled two Definitybased products targeted at call centers and large and midsize enterprises.
The first is the integration of the company's existing CentreVu application software with an ATM backbone. The ATM version links call centers at multiple locations via an ATM network and enables a host of new features, said Lucent.
"What the ATM solution does is establish a single administration site for multiple call-center systems that previously were separately trunked and managed," said Zack Taylor, Lucent's general manager of Customer Care Solutions.
