Bentley, the ultra luxury brand of, automobiles known for their speed and hand craftsmanship, is opening its first dealership in Utah.
The Crewe, England-based motor company has chosen the Hadley Automotive Co., based in Centerville, to launch the Bentley brand in Utah.
Hadley Motors currently owns a Land Rover dealership at 155 S. Frontage Road in Centerville. The firm also has an American Fork location. The Bentley dealership will be incorporated into Hadley's Centerville operation, which will begin to offer Bentley automobiles from a temporary showroom on the site while a new, dedicated showroom for the Bentley brand is built.
"We have done some pretty deep research into the preponderance of high-net-worth individuals around the country, and Salt Lake and Utah was one area where there seemed to be a particularly good fit," said David Reuter, head of public relations and communications for Bentley North America. "This is really an effort on our part to start to expand our presence in places where we think there is demand for our product. There is demand from those type of consumers in Utah for products like Bentley."
Even though Centerville may appear to be outside of the typical automall strips located throughout the Salt Lake Valley, Bentley chose Hadley Motors, owned by Sharif Badley, because of its successful business model.
"We want to go with the retail principle and the owner that we believe represents us best in the market," Reuter said. "We typically will focus on what the business can provide us rather than just the sheer location. If that means it's not directly in the center of a metropolitan area, that's OK.
