A.M. Best on May 28 affirmed the financial strength rating of A++ and the issuer credit ratings of "aa+" of the domestic life and retirement services units of American International Group Inc. A.M. Best removed the ratings from under review with negative implications and assigned a negative outlook.
In addition, the agency affirmed the financial strength ratings of A+ and the issuer credit ratings of "aa-" of most of the company's domestic property and casualty units and removed the ratings from under review with negative implications and assigned a negative outlook.
Also, the agency affirmed the financial strength ratings of A+ and issuer credit ratings of "aa-" of the units of the company's 60% majority-owned company, Transatlantic Holdings Inc., and removed the ratings from under review with negative implications and assigned a stable outlook.
Concurrently, A.M. Best downgraded the issuer credit rating to "aa-" from "aa" of AIG...
