It's not just the cosmetic product that's important but the way that it's used, so all makeup should be applied with high quality beauty brushes and implements. And, it's equally important to inform your customers about these makeup application tools.
BRUSHES
In order to achieve a polished, well blended look, you should always recommend that your customers use professional makeup brushes. The bristles in these brushes are graded based on their quality, so the price is usually an indicator of the bristle quality and brush construction - the higher the price, the higher the quality. Some brush manufacturers blend hairs from different sources to keep costs low while increasing wearability and performance. Examples of commonly used bristles include pony, boar, goat, squirrel, nylon and human. Sable is not often used because it is an exotic fibre that is very expensive. Since the hair is too smooth and silky to hold on to powdered products well, it feels soft and luxurious on the skin, but can hinder application.
These are the most common makeup brushes. Depending on the needs of your customers, they can either buy them individually or in sets.
Contour Brush: a firm, stubby brush used to apply contour powder to areas of the face that require shading or minimizing, such as the hollows of the cheekbone or below the jawline.
Blush Brush: a flexible, gently rounded brush used to apply powdered colour to cheeks.
Powder Brush: a large, fluffy brush shaped into a rounded oval and used to dust on loose face powder to give a smooth, matte finish.
Complexion Brush: a full, thick brush that is used to buff the face after makeup has been applied for a blended, finished look. This brush is too large to use for applying makeup products, especially blusher.
Straight Eyeshadow Brush: a brush that is normally one - quarter inch wide and used to apply powdered eyeshadow to the lid and browbone. The bristles are firm, yet flexible for controlled application.
Angled Eyeshadow Brush: a brush used to apply powdered eyeshadow, either into the crease area of the eye or close to the lashline.
Fluff Brush: a slightly rounded brush used to apply highlighter powder to the face. It's also used to blend eyeshadow, although...
