The Hogans aren't on television, but they're stars nonetheless - in education.
Wayne and Patricia Hogan donated $250,000 last week to help Duval County Public Schools launch Creating Opportunities that Result in Excellence, or CORE. Wayne Hogan is an attorney with Brown, Terrell, Hogan, Ellis, McClamma and Yegelwel, and Patricia Hogan is a licensed mental health counselor.
After failing episodes such as the IN Urban Teacher Residency Program, Duval was looking for a promising initiative. Duval Teachers United, in an attempt to revamp the public school system, created CORE, which seeks assistance from Jacksonville businesses.
CORE allows for instructional and leadership teams of teachers to voluntarily transfer to poorly performing schools and receive incentives.
