AFTER DISASTER STRIKES. When a catastrophe hits, will your IS department be capable of bouncing back and resuming operations in a timely manner? In an attempt to help companies address disaster preparedness issues, IBM is spearheading the Coalition for Global Business Protection, a combined effort of public and private concerns.The group consists of organizations such as the United Nations, the American Management Association International, and the Disaster Recovery Institute International.A top agenda item for the coalition is to improve the cooperation between public agencies and the private sector regarding disaster planning.The effort falls under IBM's Business Recovery Services unit, based in Sterling Forest, N.Y.; for more information, call (800) 599-9950.
