A corporate buyout involving some sexy Geist Reservoir real estate and former Indianapolis Water Co. data processing operations is under consideration by two local companies.
Compucom Development Corp., a real estate and data processing firm that was spun off by the Indianapolis Water Co. in 1983, is studying an offer for the purchase of all of its outstanding stock. The offer was made by the principal officers of Mansur Development Corp., Harold D. Garrison and Cornelius M. Alig.
Mansur is the high-profile downtown developer of such projects as the former Sears building at 300 N. Alabama St., Lockefield Gardens redevelopment, the $10 million renovation of the Century Building at 36 S. Pennsylvania St. and a planned 31-story office tower at Illinois and Market streets.
The company has offered to purchase the 1.1 million outstanding shares of Compucom for $8 a share.
