* Canadian Airlines' and American Airlines' elite-level frequent flyers are now granted unlimited access to each airlines' lounges. * Delta Air Lines will offer lower-calorie, lower-fat in-flight food when it introduces its new spa cuisine Nov. 8. The carrier partnered with chefs from five spas in the U.S. and Europe to create the lighter meals. * El Al has introduced new benefits to its frequent flyer program, Matmid. Under the terms of the program, frequent flyer members can use bonus tickets and upgrades for travel any day of the week with no blackout periods. A Matmid member can now use an upgrade voucher for an immediate family member, if they are traveling together in at least one direction. Members can also now earn points for duty-free shopping on board El Al. Members also may purchase points toward a free ticket or an upgrade if they have not yet acquired enough points. * Korean Air economy class passengers now can select seat assignments when making reservations on any international flight between Korea and the Americas and Europe. The benefit previously was available only to first- and business-class travelers. * Northwest Airlines has expanded its web site to offer a multi-media travel guide to more than 20,000 destinations worldwide. It also now offers information on timely events and activities in 200 featured cities, including cities in Africa, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Pacific Rim and the U.S. Visitors to the site can customize travel plans by specifying areas of interest, including art and cultural events, business services, children's activities and festivals. * Southwest Airlines customers who purchase ticketless travel from the Internet through Dec. 22 will be entered to win a trip for 10 to Super Bowl XXXII in San Diego, Calif. The package includes roundtrip travel on Southwest, double occupancy hotel accommodations for four nights, tickets to the Super Bowl, Super Bowl merchandise and lunch or dinner with a player or coach. * TAP Air Portugal joined Delta Air Lines' SkyMiles program Nov. 1.
