Anthony Marnell II, the visionary behind Marnell Corrao Associates and builder of much of the Las Vegas Strip's most notable landmarks, has emerged in a big way.
"After finishing the Bellagio, we spent time planning and restructuring ourselves for the next decade," Marnell said.
Following the completion of the $1.6 billion, 3,000-room Bellagio Resort in 1998, Marnell sold his ownership of the 2,563-suite Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino to Harrah's Entertainment Inc. for $880 million.
Shortly after, Marnell Corrao Associates (MCA) began strategizing its next business move in chess-like fashion, quietly working on new hotel-casinos and resort renovations and expansions in Lake Tahoe, Atlantic City and other cities while waiting to launch its next big Las Vegas move.
In 2000, Marnell resurfaced to unveil Tririga, a new computer technology firm specializing in construction management software. MGM Mirage's design group has already implemented the company's first product, the Intelligent Business System (IBS), which automates everything from design and manufacturing to planning and construction.
