McDonald's, the world's largest food service retailer, added a branded pork product to its menu for a limited time. Johnsonville Bratwurst, a premium pork product, was available in 286 McDonald's restaurants located in Wisconsin, the upper peninsula of Michigan and in Rockford, Illinois, during December. The brat was served on a home-style bakery bun and topped with ketchup and mustard. It was available as an Extra Value Meal, which includes large fries and a medium drink. Producer checkoff funds helped support point-of-sale materials.
