TO START THEIR TERM firmly in the 21 st cenfury, all 250 preclinical medical students at the Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine were given ePocrates Palm Vx handheld computers. The devices come loaded with qRx, an electronic drug reference guide providing up-to-date clinical information on nearly all the most commonly prescribed drugs, according to ePocrates, Inc., the program's network owner, San Carlos, Calif.
