Peacefully on May 20, 2010, at the age of 81. A true entrepreneur who believed firmly in the free enterprise system, he came to Canada with his wife Aase in 1953, determined to follow his dream of building a better life here for the two of them.
Arriving with an MBA from Norway, he joined Dahl Brothers (Canada) Limited in 1954 and worked his way up to office manager before buying the company in 1960 and undertaking to transform it from a distributor into a manufacturer. Little did anyone know at the time that this young Norwegian man would go on to become one of the most respected valve manufacturers in the world.
