MICROSOFT CORP. has confirmed that a bug in its Visual Basic (VB) 3.0 development tool can cause transaction-intensive applications built around the et database engine to run out of memory and crash.
The bug--which the company last week said affects only a limited number of users--occurs when a VB 3.0 program adds a new record to a database table through the et engine, which is the foundation for both VB and Access.
