In 50 years, cable television has evolved from a basic homeentertainment concept to a host of services ranging from digital subscriber lines to telephone service and beyond.
But as the industry gets even more complex as video-on-demand and voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) enter the fray, keeping track of consumers' options not to mention billing issues - has become a headache for customer service representatives.
Mentis Broadband Solutions, a small business in Greenwood Village, offers software and consulting to help cable companies tie up their loose ends while streamlining customer service and billing processes.
"The industry has evolved faster than what its mainframes can handle," said Mentis President Thomas Reinhardt.
Mentis, which designs and integrates software for the cable industry, cuts costs by reducing the number of transfers customers endure during service calls as well as limiting how much time they spend on hold.
