Several Loudoun County businessmen are complaining that a local newspaper operated by followers of controversial political leader Lyndon LaRouche, Jr. has run unauthorized advertisements for their businesses.
The owners of R and D Furniture Gallery, Sterling Tire and Auto, and Hill High Orchards say the weekly Loudoun County News ran advertisements for them without their knowledge or approval.
While all the businessmen contacted for this story said they would probably be upset if any newspaper ran their advertisement without permission, they seem to be particularly upset at their unexpected appearance in the News because of its connection with the LaRouche organization.
"They ran my ad without my authorization or knowledge and I don't think that is ethical or right," said Ron Smith, owner of R and D Furniture Galleries. Smith said he became aware of his advertisement's appearance in the Loudoun County...
