Boston Greater use of telephony with mobile and personal computers is driving the rapid expansion of the data/voice modem market, as vendors continue to load the channel with PCMCIA plug-in cards for mobile PC users. PCMCIA modem-card sales have grown from 4 percent of the market in December 1993 to 12 percent of the market this year, said analyst Ernie Raper at Vision Quest 2000, Moorpark, Calif. "PCMCIA modem penetration is likely to increase to the 14 percent to 15 percent range in 1995," Raper said. In fact, despite seeing his company currently in bankruptcy protection, Dennis C.
