Modine Manufacturing Company has broken ground for a new plant to assemble automotive engine-cooling modules. Modine's Toledo assembly plant will be located at 2010 Brent Drive, Toledo, Ohio.
The 50,400-sq.ft. plant will be operated by Modine's Automotive Division and is located approximately three miles north of DaimlerChrysler's new facility in Toledo.
The plant will utilize the latest technology to assemble
heat-transfer components into finished modules for just
in time delivery to DaimlerChrysler. This facility is
expected to be fully operational in early 2001, and is
planning to hire 35 new employees.
Modine has been successful as an independent worldwide leader in heat transfer technology. The Toledo plant is Modine's first North American facility specializing in Assembly of modules. Modine has a similar facility, Modine Montage GmbH, located in Wackersdorf, Germany. Modine also has manufacturing plants across the United States and others located in The Netherlands, Mexico, Hungary, Austria, Spain, and Italy. The company's corporate headquarters are located in Racine, Wisconsin.
