Ease of access and stunning surroundings make Morocco's most popular city a haven for incentives.
A bustling medina, snow-topped mountains, roaming deserts, soaring heat and less than a four-hour flight time from London. Marrakech and its surroundings feel as if they are on the other side of the world, yet its easy accessibility has made the North African destination a firm favourite for UK groups.
'We love the fact that in less than four hours you can be in a new continent, completely immersed in a wonderfully unfamiliar, vibrant culture,' says Hollie Parsons, account director at The Black Tomato Agency. 'That's something very rare and hugely attractive for a short-haul incentive.'
Getting there British Airways operates three to four daily flights a week, while Royal Air Maroc supplies three to four direct flights a week. Both airlines fly from London Gatwick. Thomson and Easyjet operate two flights a week from Manchester to Marrakech, while Thomson operates one flight a week from Birmingham Airport.
Accommodation Some of the biggest names in the hotel industry have opened five-star properties in Marrakech, including Four Seasons and Sofitel, with a number of global brands set to debut in the city in the near future.
One of Marrakech's most luxurious properties is Beachcomber Hotels' six-star Royal Palm Marrakech, which opened in spring 2014. It features 134 suites in six categories, beginning at junior and progressing to Prince Villa, which include their own outdoor pool and private hammam. Its 18-hole golf course, 3,500m2 Spa by Clarins and three multi-cuisine restaurants...
