MOTOROLA, C-DOT TEST WIRELESS LOCAL LOOP SYSTEM

Motorola Inc.'s Cellular Infrastructure Group and the Centre for the Development of Telematics (C-DoT) completed test calls in India on a wireless local loop system. The system pairs Motorola's Wireless Local Loop (WiLL) trunked radio subsystem with a direct digital interface as well as C-DoT's central office exchanges (RAX/MAX). The fixed wireless network connects the public switched telephone network to the radio system without using additional cellular switches or individual lines.
