The Multimedia Learning Curve Can Be Steep
Recently I attended a faculty development workshop that focused on how to use PowerPoint in a classroom presentation. The young faculty member demonstrating his teaching style and use of the hardware and software to his peers was honest about the time needed to prepare such a "show." This was not a case of throwing a few lecture notes together in the hour before class. The professor had spent 10 hours on a 15-minute presentation, which was still incomplete.
