On July 15,2001, the 3rd (TU) Corps started a transformation process to qualify as a High Readiness Force Corps HQ and was named NRDC-T. NRDC-T gained its' international status on 10 September 2002. The MOU and Tecnical Arrangement were signed on 23 September 2002. After SHAPE'S Deployable Headquarters Task Force recommendation, SACEUR declared NRDC-T had reached Full Operational Capability. On 19 December 2002 the MC formally endorsed HQ NRDC-T as a NATO Deployable HRF (L) HQ. As a result of the MC's recommendation The NAC selected HQ NRDC-T as a NATO High Readiness Force HQ on,
MISSION
NRDC-T is to be prepared to deploy, on order, to an area of operation designated by SACEUR, and assume OPCOM/OPCON of assigned units in order to conduct combined, joint military operations across the NATO's entire mission spectrum (High Intensity Conflict / Peace Support Operations) either as a Corps HQ with up to 4 Divisions and Corps Troops, or as a Land Component Command HQ.

THE UNITS BELONGING TO THE CORPS
NRDC-T consists of 1 Division, 3 Brigades, 1 Motorized Infantry Regiment, Command Control and Support Units (Signal Regiment, HQ Support Group and Security Battalion), Combat Support Units and Combat Service Support Units.
THE CAPABILITIES OF NRDC-T
For Rapid Deployable HQs; CIS, Deployability, and Mobility are the key capabilities. Any deficiency in these capabilities will have adverse effects on other key issues such as survivability, sustainability, and availability, etc.
