Network Computing Devices Inc. has introduced the NCD ThinSTAR 300, a Windows CE thin client built according to Intel Architecture Lean-Client Guidelines. The device, priced at $799 and available next month, supports the Intel Wiredfor Management initiative, allowing it to be managed using PC management tools. NCD also enhanced its CE- based terminal software to support dial-up modem connections and password protection to prevent unauthorized configuration changes. In other thin-client news, NCD last week reached an agreement to buy the thin-client business unit of Tektronix Inc. NCD said it expects to complete the deal by the end of the year; details were not disclosed. The Tektronix facility is located in Beaverton, Ore., near an existing NCD development site.
