Together with VUE, competes with Sylvan in information technology testing market
NATIONAL COMPUTER SYSTEMS INC. is set to give Sylvan Learning Systems Inc. a run for its money in the information technology testing market.
Minneapolis-based test and assessment service provider NCS acquired Virtual University Enterprises Inc., a marketing and training management company, in a stock swap earlier this month valued at about $14 million. WE will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of NCS' electronic course registration and testing unit.
WE now provides online registration and information services for more than 2,100 technical training centers worldwide. Among its customers are an estimated 280 Novell Authorized Education Centers participating in VUE's lead-generation program.
