Frequently dropped connections and insecure communication are some of the biggest challenges facing wireless infrastructure deployments, but a solution to these problems can be found in Mobility V4.01 from NetMotion Wireless.
NetMotion Mobility maintains wireless sessions on a server if the wireless signal is lost, allowing client PCs to reconnect to their sessions seamlessly once a wireless signal is re-established. Mobility also uses VPN-like technology to encrypt and secure both wired and wireless connections.
In practice, Mobility lives up to its claims. Users will like being able to roam from location to location. The product's ability to seamlessly connect via any connection supporting IP brings additional flexibility to the table. CRN Test Center engineers were able to switch from various wireless connections (including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and CDMA) to wired connections (dial-up and Ethernet) and back without corrupting stored sessions. No matter how a TCP/IP connection was broken and re-established, the data remained intact.
NetMotion's technology gives an edge to solution providers servicing markets that are embracing Tablet PC and mobile PC technology, such as health care, government and wholesale distribution.
