Agbaje becomes MD for GT Bank
Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has appointed Segun Agbaje, as MD/CEO. Agbaje previously served as an executive director and deputy managing director. Agbaje has led the execution of large and complex transactions in financial advisory, structured and project finance, balance sheet restructuring, debt and equity capital raising in the Nigerian energy, telecommunications, and financial services and manufacturing sectors. In addition, he helped develop the Nigerian interbank derivatives market.
Agbaje joined GTBank after a stint at Ernst & Young. His experience cuts across most aspects of the bank's business including commercial banking, investment banking, treasury, corporate planning and strategy, settlements and operations.
Agbaje serves on the board of Guaranty Trust Assurance, GTBank (Ghana), GTBank (Gambia) and GTBank (UK). He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, with a BSc and MBA from the University of San Francisco, USA.
Yvonne Ike becomes Renaissance West Africa CEO
Yvonne Ike (right) has been appointed Renaissance Capital's Chief Executive Officer, West Africa, based in Lagos. Ike brings to her post more than 18 years experience in financial services, including capital markets operations and fixed income, derivatives and equities products. In her career, she has led senior teams in New York, Geneva, Hong Kong, Nigeria and South Africa.
Ike has a BSc in Economics. She started her career as an auditor with Ernst and Young International and has been an FSA registered representative since 1994. Prior to her appointment at Renaissance Capital, she was a managing director at JP Morgan, where she spent 15 years. More recently, she has worked as a partner at Africapital Management Limited.
Ike succeeds Rotimi Oyekanmi, who has been appointed Chairman Emeritus, Renaissance Group, West Africa. In this role, Oyekanmi, who joined Renaissance in 2007, will be responsible for building Renaissance's consumer finance business and assist with Renaissance Partners' land developments in West Africa.
