When Austin's Fracta Networks Inc. decided to take a big jump forward with its solution to information overload, it put its future in the hands of Michael Heflin, its new president and CEO.
Heflin, 42, brings more than 20 years of expetience in the computer industry to Fracta Networks.
He previously was chief operating officer at Rochester, N.Y.-based Xelus Inc., where he led the company through a strategic re-launch. Xelus offers service optimization and ecommerce services for the supply chain market.
Earlier, he was vice president of North American sales at Vantive Corp., where he directed global strategic initiatives that led to a successful IPO. Santa Clara, Calif.based Vantive, a developer of customer relationship management software, was acquired by PeopleSoft Inc. in 1999.
Austin-based Fracta. Networks, founded in April 2000, says it's setting the standard for how people use information in an era of information overload.
