A new Maurer-Soehne spinning coaster will premiere this year at Lagoon Amusement Park, Farmington, Utah.
The German-made ride has a footprint similar to the Maurer-- Soehne Wild Mouse, which has been a favorite on the parks midway for several years.
The park is investing in the new coaster despite a 2% dip in attendance during the 2002 season.
On average the park brings in 1,150,000 patrons a year.
"I think a lot of it had to do with the economy," said park VP of Marketing Dick Andrew. "Most of the dip came from a slack-off in corporate sales."
