GREENSBORO - A new Greensboro company is joining the fray in CD-ROM promotional publishing.
IConnecTV offers two products. One is a CD - called a "TeleDisk" at iConnecTV that contains an infomercial and is delivered via direct mail; the other is a CD business card that can contain detailed company and product information. Both products are "played" in the CD drive of a standard computer.
The new six-person company, owned and funded by President Bill Johnston, has just started to make sales calls on companies in the area. Several Triad companies are providing promotional CDs to area businesses.
Analyst Ken Weilerstein at Gartner Group in Stamford, Conn., said that as more and more computers come standard with CD drives, the use of CDs as a promotional tool is becoming more commonplace.
