Carb-counting consumers now have an exclusive place to shop in Anchorage.
Ingrid Parish, owner of Castus Low-Carb Superstore, said knew she was on to a good thing when she learned of the California-based franchise which deals exclusively in name-brand foods that are engineered to be low in carbohydrates.
"I just knew that it would fly right away," Parish said of her store - the first of its kind in Anchorage. The mother of two and former television reporter had been searching for a business opportunity when she read of the franchise in a national newspaper.
Parish opened her store on Industry Way in early April, and held the Grand opening on April 17. She said she's been having fun ever since.
