Joan Bayer has a good business problem on her hands. Concept Rehab, Inc., the rehabilitation services business she founded in 1984, has grown exponentially and, consequently, needs a new place to call home. Groundbreaking for a new headquarters took place August 10. The multi-disciplinary company will relocate to the Port-of-Sylvania office complex December 31.
"If you would have asked me where I thought we'd be when we first began, I would have really missed the mark," she says.
Concept Rehab started with seven part-time employees and now has a staff of 250. The company provides physical and occupational therapy, speech language pathology, psychological and other rehabilitation services in nursing homes in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
Bayer, a former vice president with St. Charles Hospital, knew she had a good idea on her hand; she just didn't know how quickly the idea would take hold.
