Brigi
Based in Aspen, Colo., Brigi is a line of luxury pajamas and leisurewear for customers between the ages of 35 and 60. Taking the motto "Never Get Dressed!" the collection mainly comprises comfortable two-piece sets that showcase playful novelty prints, with names such as Red Sparkly Cherries, Back Country Babes and Retro Beauty.
For holiday, Brigi features a Sassy Kitty leopard print embellished with hot pink satin ribbon trim and crystal jeweled buttons. All of the pieces are made in Colorado from pure cotton or silk. Wholesale prices average $80 for a set of cotton or flannel pajamas and $136 to $154 for silk.
The four-year-old line is found in 77 better specialty boutiques and better specialty stores, including Fred Segal in Los Angeles and Amen Wardy in Aspen. Projected volume for the year is expected to be in the low six figures.
Johnie Fedora
Los Angeles-based Johnie Fedora launched three months ago as a new hat and accessories line aimed at customers 18 to 40 years old. The collection comprises fedoras, baseball caps, newsboy hats, yacht caps and soft scarf head wraps that come in fabrics including wool felt, tie-dye velvet, washed cotton and denim. Each hat features embellishments such as rhinestones, sequin flowers, handmade silk flowers, feathers, ribbons and trims.
Two styles expected to be popular among buyers include a denim baseball hat with a crystal jeweled brim and a large crystal medallion with a rhinestone band, as well as a black wool fedora with a black and crystal rhinestone band and black sequined flower. Both hats are priced wholesale at $45, and the entire line ranges from $18 to $45.
The Los Angeles-based line is found at Selvaggio in Newport Beach, Calif., and plans to target specialty boutiques and better department stores. First-year sales figures are expected to reach $300,000.
