Worldwide Computer Products News-22 August 2001-New version of Central Command's anti-virus software now available (C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com The US-based computer security specialist Central Command Inc has begun shipments of AntiVirus eXpert Professional 6, a new version of its virus protection and Internet application firewall product. The latest version has been designed to detect and remove over 52,000 known types of viruses and to stop unauthorised applications from accessing the Internet. The software incorporates a real-time content virus-scanner to intercept viruses and other malicious applications as computer files are accessed, received within e-mail attachments, downloaded through the Internet, transferred using peer-to-peer applications or accessed on network drives. Other features include Internet filtering to block specific web sites, IP addresses and TCP/IP port numbers, Internet application control to intercept and block unauthorised outbound Internet connections and privacy control to monitor incoming and outgoing cookies.
