* Wired (Birchwood, MN) shipped the OS X version of software for its MediaPress hardware MPEG encoder ($3799) for Mac. The software is a native OS X Cocoa application that supports multiple processors and features built-in real-time preview, audio level meters, improved MPEG-2 encoding quality, batch-encode capabilities, support for chapter markers from DVD Studio Pro, and import/export functionality for batch lists. MediaPress X is bundled with all new MediaPress SDI encoders and is available as a $499 upgrade for current MediaPress Pro, YUV and SDI encoder owners
