The U.S. Small Business Administration says more than 75 percent of small businesses fail within the first five years. Success rates climb, however, if the business is part of a business incubator.
According to the National Business Incubation Association, 87 percent of companies that reside in an incubator survive longer than five years. Adding a mentor to guide the new business through start-up and implementation further increases the chances for success.
