Nine telecommunications projects were included on a list, published by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (TDA), of 53 infrastructure and industrial projects in Mexico with the most potential for U.S. exports. At the top of the list is TELECOMM satellite which potentially could bring in $1.45 billion in U.S. exports. Other telecommunications projects included are Globalstar Wireless Investment, with an export potential of $55 million; TELECOMM Rural Telephony, which has a potential of $140 million in exports; and Amaritel Local & Long-Distance Network, with an export potential of $450 million. All of the chosen projects will be featured at a TDA conference Sept. 24-26 in Kansas City, Mo, where U.S. exporters will have the opportunity to meet with Mexican procurement officials.
