As Microsoft sent windows NT 4.0 to manufacturing last week, the company and analysts said the introduction of Office 97 later this year could trigger the largest upgrade volume in the office productivity suite's seven-year history.
That's because Office 97 will offer a much greater advance in features and usability than Office 95 did last year, analysts say. "Office 95 was about the least you could do and still charge people for an upgrade," says industry pundit David Coursey.
