The LS-10 from Olympus is an impressive entry into the arena of portable digital recorders. I didn't know what to expect, since the product was from a company that was familiar only because of its line of digital cameras, but a lot of thought went into the design of this portable recorder. It is a PCM recorder fitted with built-in X-Y stereo aligned mics, in addition to line and mic level inputs. It can record in many audio formats: from its highest 24-bit/96 kHz resolution all the way down to lower-bitrate WMA and MP3 files and everything in between.
