Ascension Health member St. Vincent's Health System, Birmingham, Ala., named John O'Neil president and CEO, effective in late March. O'Neil, 52, who currently serves as president and CEO of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, N.Y., in 2007 became a ministry market leader for five Ascension Health hospitals in New York and Connecticut during a reorganization. O'Neil replaces Curtis James, who retired last July, a spokeswoman said. ... Lynn Britton was named president and CEO of the Sisters of Mercy Health System. Britton, 48, was selected for the top job at the Chesterfield, Mo.-based system effective Jan. 30. He is the third CEO in about two years' time at Sisters of Mercy. Former President and CEO John Sullivan left Sisters of Mercy on Jan. 30 after a decision by the board to change leadership, a system spokeswoman said. Before him, Ronald Ashworth served in the role from 1999 to 2007. ... Robynn Van Patten was hired as the vice president and general counsel of Daughters of Charity Health System, Los Altos Hills, Calif., a newly created position for the system in Los Altos Hills, Calif.
