The Pittsburgh Pirates hope to raise up to $1 million by selling commemorative bricks engraved with a name or message that will be placed in the terraces surrounding their new home, PNC Park.
"It's an opportunity to give the fans the ownership of the facility," said Steve Greenberg, Pirates vice president in charge of new ballpark development.
The Pirates plan to sell 8,800 Bucco Bricks, with all money from the program going to charity, primarily to the Roberto Clemente Foundation, he said.
