Mike Colgan has been the president of Manassas, Va.-based Colgan Air, Inc. since 1999, and was one of its founders, along with his father, Virginia state Sen. Chuck Colgan. From 1991 through 1998, he served as the airline's executive vice president.
From 1968 through 1980, Colgan worked in different roles at Colgan Airways Inc., moving up to executive vice president. Colgan Airways was sold to Presidential Airlines in 1986. Between 1986 and 1991, he served as president of Colgan Ford. Colgan spoke to C/R News about the airline's fleet plans and its new codeshare partner.
Q. What led you to the current codesharing agreement with US Airways (U)?
A. Our codeshare agreement with Continental Airlines (CAL) as a Continental (Connection) partner had run out....
