Donald Burton thinks it may take little more tha a small plastic mouse to lead residents of developing countries from lives of poverty to relative prosperity.
And he's hoping that the mouse's speedy Internet trail will lead them to the International Import-Export Institute in Glendale, which provides online programs to help certify the proficiency of trade professionals.
IIEI is seeing a surge in interest in its services in these times of increased international security and the stepped-up globalization of trade.
"After Sept. 11, the stark reality of vulnerability and security became a much higher priority," said Diana Larowe, director of global relations. "There is a greater demand for information to make sure things are done correctly."
