OnStream Data has unveiled the ADR2.60ide, a new digital tape drive that comes bundled with Yosemite Technologies' TapeWare XE single server-based network software and a 60GB ADR2 cartridge.
The new drive has an estimated street price of $499 (U.S.).
The first of OnStream's second-generation ADR drives, the ADR2.60ide offers double the media capacity of its first-generation counterparts, transfer speeds of up to 5 MB/sec, easier directory access and faster search speeds. An enhanced IDE interface eliminates the need to spend extra money on a SCSI card. With the ability to back up the hard disks of most small servers on a single cartridge, the ADR2.60ide costs a fraction of the price of competing products with similar capacities and delivers superior reliability.
