Chancellor George Osborne faced furore from trade union leaders after he stated that public sector salary increases would continue to be capped at 1% for a further two years, with an end to automatic pay progression indicated.
Unite's general secretary, Len McCluskey, said Osborne had used the Budget to 'attack hard-working public sector workers'.
