Cumberland Transit, an outdoor and bicycle specialty store on West End Avenue, finally has room to breath after 30 years in business.
Allen Doty and Mark Gingles, owners of the high-end sporting goods outfitter, have spent nearly $100,000 remodeling and redesigning Cumberland Transit's store.
"We're 95 percent finished right now," says Gingles. Cumberland Transit used existing cash flow for the remodeling and acquisition of its neighboring bicycle store.
The owners say their face-lift is a necessary stage of growth for Cumberland Transit, which purchased the neighboring bicycle store and inventory last year for $250,000 and took advantage of an option to lease 3,200 square...
