Search marketing firm Overture is buying the Web search division of Norway-based FAST in a deal worth up to $100m (pound 64m), just days after it said it was buying AltaVista.
The deal is a clear sign that Overture means to attack the dominant market position of Google, which has moved in on Overture's core business of distributing advertiser paid-for search results.
